Electric Rack & Pinions
Engineers in the last decade decided to replace the old-school hydraulics with electric motors, which isn’t surprising considering the general shift towards entirely electrically-powered cars. The motors are usually placed either at the base of the steering column or directly on the steering rack and have become a fairly simple solution to advancing power steering into the 21st Century. Electronic sensors pick up the amount of steering lock being applied and add in a proportional amount of additional force to the steering input. Electrical charge is used to rotate the motor and through energy transfer, a lateral force is produced that aids the movement along the steering rack.

Been dealing with Phoenix rack and Axle for at least 7 years now and never had an issue without them handling it.. Steve knows his business beyond just a voice on the phone we are an high end Euro shop and he fixed them all for us.. wouldn't go anywhere else

Phoenix Rack and Axle is the best place to go for Quality Parts and affordable service for your vehicle. I had a steering issue with my Jeep. Phoenix Rack & Axle diagnose the problem and had me back on the road in no time. I was shocked to find out that they even rebuilt my rack and pinion and gave me a lifetime warranty. The staff was super helpful and friendly . Jason , Jay , and Steve all knew their stuff . I will definitely be back.

These guys are legit I live in Vegas and couldn’t find a used driveshaft and also the one place that builds new driveshafts was absolutely insane with the price he gave me, so I found Phoenix rack and axle online called down and spoke to Steve I gave him the info on what I needed and instead of just building it wrong he called to verify what I had told him was correct. That was on Wednesday at 1 pm he built and shipped my “brand new” driveshaft by 5 pm the SAME FREAKIN DAY. They are very knowledgeable and super friendly people. Next time I’m in need of something they will definitely be first on my list to call. So anyways I just want to say thank you for your amazing serviceThanks again Chris Hewitt

I had some driveshafts made here, by Steve, a decade ago and recently went to AZ driveshaft to get some others made after I changed out my transfer-case. Big mistake! The folks at AZ charged me double the price for half the quality. I would up getting Steve to help fix my horrible, poorly manufactured, AZ driveshaft. Before I could barely do 60MPH and had a jumping dashboard. My truck is SASed on 40” tires and can comfortably cruise at modern highway speeds now ~90 MPH. The difference in price, customer service, turnaround time and quality is night and day! Thanks Phoenix Rack and Axle and thank you Steve!

Look no further! Phoenix rack and axle know are very knowledgeable.
